Do those saying health reform will lead to decisions made by a board know that decisions are now made that way?
Does anyone complaining about decisions supposedly being made by govt board think insurance company boards are any better? Do these people realize that who lives and who dies currently is literally determined by employees and officers within insurance companies who earn their keep, in part, by meeting implicit claims-denial quotas?
And why don’t we see people in wheel chairs or the aged at any of these staged anti-Obama protests against health care reform? Why do those protesting seem to be the sort who have never used their insurance yet, and thus are not in any position to speak at length on the supposed adequacy of their coverage?
Think about it.
I believe that people still believe the lie that america has great health coverage as is.
this simple fact is, america doesnot. I have lived in both America and the Canada and I can tell you, I prefer the level of Care in Canada.
In the USA every test needed to be clearned through my HMO, things like Mammagrams, cholesterol checks and even more than one anual check up with my physician were not covered. Despite the fact that I had a family history of breast cancer, heart disease.. I was turned away because I was “too young”. Apparently college age kids do not need screening for disease. My Canadian doctor found a lump when I was 25. My Canadian doctor who agreed that i should be going for mammograms. My Canadian doctor who would send my for blood work when ever I asked. Actually In Canada, my health care was managed by myself and my primary care physician. Not once have I ever has to ask OHIP for permission to obtain health care.
To be honest in most partially socialized or socialized medicine nations, decisions are made by the doctor and patient, not a panel of office workers.
Even without the introduction of socialized medicine, health care needs reform. Your life is honestly sitting in a board room with accountants. The denial quotas, price gouging and denials of essential care have to stop.
